Being a nontraditional student wasn't the only thing that set me apart at the Idaho State University college of business. I had entered the MBA program not only to receive an education, abut also to discover who I was and how God had wired me. It was a vibrant time in my life.
As I made my way through all the courses in the program, I carefully noted what was 'interesting', what was 'exciting' and what resonated on the deepest level, like 'I was born for this!'
Hard work, determination, and quite a bit of navel gazing paid off. I received an MBA and understood these four things about myself:

I did not discover my love for accounting until I was working on a master's degree in my 40's. It's rather strange to go your whole life being the girl who never balances her own checkbook to being the girl who loves to balance everyone else's. (Oh, and now I even balance my own checkbook, ha!)
